If you're using an Android device and can't use voice recognition, it's likely that your device is missing some essential Google services, such as Google Play Services or Google Voice.
In this guide, we explain step by step how to fix it based on your Android phone model.
1. Doesn’t your phone have Google Play or Google services?
This is common in certain Android devices from brands like Huawei, ZTE or Oppo, especially those sold for the Chinese market. These phones do not include Google Play or the services needed for voice recognition.
🔧 Solution – Install the following apps:
• Google Play Store
• Google Play Services
• Google app
Once you’ve installed and activated these apps, you should be able to use voice recognition normally.
2. Do you have Google Play, but voice recognition still doesn't work?
Some Android devices, such as Samsung phones, may come preconfigured with their own voice service (like Bixby or HiVoice) instead of Google Voice, which can interfere with proper functionality.
🔧 Steps to fix it:
• Make sure Google Play Services is installed and up to date.
• Open Google Play and search for the Google app. Install it or enable it if it's disabled.
• Open the Google app. If it launches without errors, voice recognition should now work.
Then, open any Khanji School app and go to the “Pronunciation” game within the sentence games to check that voice recognition is working correctly.
